Replacing a lost tooth with a titanium root and a crown made for you.
An implant replaces the root of a missing tooth with a titanium screw that integrates with the bone. A crown is then made to fit on top. Unlike a bridge, the neighbouring teeth are not filed down, and unlike a removable denture, it does not shift when you eat or speak.
The treatment runs in stages over several months: assessment and planning, placing the implant, a period while the bone integrates, then fitting the crown. The same dentist handles every stage, which matters when a treatment runs for half a year.
